Sweet Adelines International
Sweet Adelines International is a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. Learn more at the Sweet Adelines official website.
Founded in 1945, Sweet Adelines International is the world's largest non-profit musical education association for women. Its 30,000 members sing four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style in over 600 choruses throughout the United States and in 12 other countries.
Barbershop-style harmony is a type of a cappella (unaccompanied) singing with three voices -- tenor, baritone, and bass -- harmonizing to the melody, usually sung by the lead.
To learn more about Sweet Adelines International, take a quick trip to headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Or, if you're already hooked on ringing chords and want to sing with a chorus in Region 1, look at the map to Find A Chorus nearest you. The North Atlantic region includes all of New England, northeastern New York state, and eastern Canada.
