DIANE’S CLASSES
So What Do Those Judges Want Anyway?
Understanding the basics of the judging categories
and what is rewarded in all four categories. Defining the philosophy of the judging
program and the accuracy and synchronization that is deemed basic to any performance.
So … Why Do I Stand Here?
A fascinating riser placement class. Cutting edge information that all class participants will enjoy.
Thorough discussion and demonstration pertaining to how and where we resonate our own individual instrument and where
we should stand for optimum hearing capability and unit sound.
Singing in Tune
An interesting ear-opening approach to singing
with total awareness of tonal center. Entire audience participates and demos
for one another.
The Marilyn Monroes and Ethel Mermans
Within Us
An interesting approach to vocal production using
lots of imagery and discussion about the vocal cords and their importance insinging.
Lots of class participation and observation. Volunteer small groups from
within the clas are used as well.
Diction…the American Way
A discussion of American English vowel sounds
and the appropriate handling of consonants, dipthongs, etc. A fun and informative
class.
Adding Quality Singers
Proposed audition requirements, audition forms,
voice profile sheets and music team involvement discussed here. Existing full
chorus vocal reassessments discussed also. Why music teams do what they do.
Musicans…a Gentle, Loving
People
A new LEGAL song will be learned by all attendees. The focus of this presentation is more motivation than anything else as we discuss
the wonderful attributes of music loves such as ourselves … how fortunate we are to be Sweet Adelines, etc.
Attitudes Anonymous
A look at how attitudes from both presenter and
the group can affect one another in positive and not-so-positive ways. An excellent
class for creating self-awareness on a weekly basis. All members of the class
participate in small group breakouts which work on and present role-playing scenarios.
A safe way for us to see ourselves and lots of fun too!
